Product Description

Kaneg FRAME SLIDERS: DUCATI 1198 / 1098/ 1098S / 848/ 848 EVO

INNER BODY or CUT-FAIRING Frame protector:

 

Type 1: INNER BODY – with hidden pucks.

The inner body type are fixed inside the Fairings and a DIY foam protector is placed between the puck end and inner fairing.

 

Type 2: CUT-FAIRING – with protruding pucks.

The cut Fairing type, has the slider fixed through a DIY Fairing puck hole.

 

Select the

type 1 Deldrin: inner or protruding

or

type 2 Alloy: inner or protruding

Frame Slider.

 

SUPPLIED.

Hard DELRIN Pucks.

Offset frame collars

12mm diameter Stainless Steel threaded through-bolt, nuts and washers

 

DIY

You will need to supply your own foam protector and temporary cable ties/tape etc to retain the sponge until the fairings are fixed.

Tools to complete the job.

 

FIXING

 

We recommend a Motorcycle Mechanic fix these sliders.

 

Type 1

Remove the fairings to access the Frame and the top engine bolt.

Undo the engine bolt nut and slide out the engine bolt.

Make up 1 puck side: slide on a washer, puck and spacer onto the bolt end with the already fixed nut.

Slide the bolt through the frame, then place the spacer, puck and washer onto the exposed bolt end.

Fix and tighten the nyloc nut to 40Nm.

Place the Sponge/Foam packer to the end of each puck end, between the puck & inner fairing.

Replace the Fairings.

Ensure all fixings are tightened to Ducati’s specification.

 

Type 2

Locate then mark out the puck position on the Fairing.

Remove the fairings to access the top engine bolt/frame.

Check you have correctly located the puck position on the Fairing.

Core the Puck hole through the fairing.

Remove the engine bolt.

Undo the engine bolt nut and slide out the engine bolt.

Make up 1 puck side: slide on a washer, puck and spacer onto the bolt end with the already fixed nut.

Slide the bolt through the frame, then place the spacer, puck and washer onto the exposed bolt end.

Fix and tighten the nyloc nut to 40Nm.

Replace the Fairings.

Ensure all fixings are tightened to the Ducati’s specification.
